Budget Battlers — Season 2 and learning on set
On being awarded $5000 for kindest person on set, and what I took away from the production.
Working on Budget Battlers Season 2 was a crash course in how film and television productions are ran, and one of the craziest times of my life. Across the course of several months, I went from Sydney to Melbourne, to Adelaide and back following the Budget Battlers Team (Jess, Norm, Leigh, Tim and Lawtz) as we travelled around Australia helping those in need.
Episode 3 was a particular highlight for me: I was awarded $5000 for kindest person on set. That recognition fueled me to pursue this business and dream, and it showed me something that matters to me — kindness on set is how you protect the day, the cast, and each other when the schedule is tight.
Between setups I was still sharpening the fundamentals: lens choice under pressure, blocking that serves the story, and staying in sync with the director and production. Those lessons carried straight into what we pursued next!
